Welcome to 1836 Engineering

Around here, you might hear us say “Our firm wasn’t founded in 1836, but Texas damn sure was!” and that’s how we got our name. Texas won independence from Mexico when Sam Houston defeated Santa Anna at the battle of San Jacinto in April 1836. We are proud of our Texas heritage and know our clients are too.

1836 Engineering is fortunate to provide clients one of the most experienced, knowledgeable, and diverse teams in the industry. Improving the Texas infrastructure is what we do. We strive to enhance our state and leave a positive legacy.

In addition, we are a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB), a TxDOT pre-certified firm, and TxDOT Administratively Qualified (AQ) firm.

CEO and Founder

More than 24 years of experienced leadership in TxDOT roadway construction management and inspection, as well as field and laboratory testing. Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering, Technology, Texas Tech University Registered Professional Engineer (Texas)

Joe Fiello

Vice President

Key knowledge of state highway studies and testing developed through work in engineering firms and the TxDOT. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in structures, University of MIssissippi (Ole Miss)

Brice Sanders

Vice President

After beginning his career sweeping floors and cleaning pans, Brice spent six years as a field and lab technician where he tested soils, concrete, and more. Brice has since joined Marvin and together they continued to deliver projects of all sizes across the Metroplex.

Cole Hutson

Vice President

Supervisor of daily materials testing and geotechnical engineering activities, coupled with strong project management experience. Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering,Texas Tech University Registered Professional Engineer (Texas)
