I-35W Segment 3B of North Tarrant Express
Project Overview:
Segment 3B of the North Tarrant Express Project was a regular Bid Build project and consisted of reconstructing the existing general purpose and frontage roads along I-35W and adding new managed lanes in the median. The $244 million project added auxiliary lanes along the general-purpose lanes between entrance/exit ramps and additional frontage roads were provided at distinct locations. This 3.6 miles segment of I-35W, from north of I-820 to US 81/287, started construction in May 2013 with substantial completion in late 2016.
